In our opinion, brands that guarantee a reaction-free experience are reckless and should be avoided. Your safety is our priority, and we believe in being transparent and responsible about the potential risks.

DNA Organics Hair colours should only ever be applied by a Qualified and Trained hairdresser/hair colourist.
If you have purchased a DNA Organics or DNA Branded hair dye/colour it is likely that it is a fake or counterfiet product.

DNA Organics never ever sell hair dyes/colour directly to the public consumer unless they are directed to in writing by that persons Qualified and Trained hairdresser/hair colourist, who confirms they will be applying the colour for the customer.
Please contact us immediately for help if you have purchased a DNA Hair dye/colour and you are not a qualified or trained Hair colourist.

About the 48 patch test.
Your hairdresser will usually gladly perform this service for you,
They will explain this process for you, however, In summary,
They will place a small amount of a mixture of the product on the inside of your elbow and let it dry and do not wash it for 48 hours.
Next, if there has been no swelling, rashes, or itchiness during this period, you should be able to proceed to the application of the product.
You must inform your hair professional if you have had any allergic reactions to hair colouring products in the past.
It may mean that you will not be able to use our products at all.
You should not use this product if you have a damaged scalp, rashes, open sores, newly healed wounds or an extremely sensitive skin issue;
in these cases it is important to consult your medical professional prior to colouring your hair.

We strongly recommend performing the 48-hour allergy patch test before every application,
regardless of whether you have used our product before without any reaction.

In future this product is not compatible with you, do not use this product again.

Typically, it’s best to wait at least six weeks for henna to wash out before colouring your hair with any DNA Organics hair colour range.
This helps avoid any adverse reactions and ensures you achieve your desired colour result.

For some hair types, the wait time may be longer. Your hair professional can provide personalised guidance to help you achieve the best possible outcome.

INGREDIENTS

Frequently Asked Questions About some of the ingredients in our products.

That is definitely misinformation. It is true that at the time of writing these FAQ’s that the world health organisation allows for a maximum use of 10% TDS in hair colouring formulas. This is in comparison to a maximum 4% PPD in hair colouring formulas. For example the maximum TDS that is in any DNA Luxury Organics ZERO Colour range is much less than half the maximum 10%. We only include from 1% up to 3.5% in any colour shade.

There is a lot of dangerous and unethical misinformation online regarding this ingredient. TDS is definitely a different ingredient with different traits. That is why it can be tolerated by more people. There is much reputable research proving TDS to be a milder alternative for people wishing to permanently colour their hair. Only real neutral and reputable research should be taken into account when deciding to choose a suitable alternative for you.

DNA Luxury Organics ZERO Colour uses (TDS) Toluene-2,5-diamine sulphate, which is proven to be a much milder ingredient and that can be tolerated by more than 50% of people that reacted to PPD as tested.

Phenylenediamine is a large family of ingredients. PPD (p-Phenylendiamine) is one of the many ingredients belonging to this family. Another ingredient that belongs to this family is Toluene-2,5-diamine sulphate (TDS), This is definitely a different ingredient to PPD. European cosmetic packaging law requires that the family name of Phenylenediamine is used.

Some people are sensitive to PPD (p-Phenylenediamine) in permanent hair dye. Some have been given professional medical advice to avoid PPD but would still like to colour their hair without using Henna and other non-professional methods. They require an alternative to colouring their hair.

We would never claim to be totally Certified Organic.
We will leave these kinds of unethical and dangerous claims to other haircare brands.
In- fact it’s not possible to be a professional function hair brand and be certified organic at the same time, except for Henna, which isn’t suitable for professional salon use.

When we purchase a certified organic ingredient to use in our products, we make sure that we only purchase ingredients that are certified by ACO (Australian Certified Organic).

For example, in an average tube of DNA Organics Hair Colour, there are roughly between 52 -54 ingredients, and 33 of those ingredients are purchased in Australia and Certified Organic by we believe to be one of the most respected Organic Certifiers in the world; ACO (Australian Certified Organic).
We only trust and use ingredients that are certified by this Certifier.

Unlike some other countries, in Australia the packaging and labelling laws state that all manufacturers must state the full chemical name of all ingredients on the packaging.
As far as we know, the only chemical name exempt is water, which has one of the scariest chemical names (DHMO) or Dihydrogen monoxide (Hydrogen x 2 + Oxygen x 1 = H2O)
Another example is Certified Organic Fennel Seed Oil which has a chemical name of (Foeniculum Vulgare), doesn’t look the best but is an amazing oil to work with.

We never ever test any of our products on animals.
We always test our products in real salons on real people, after all we are all about professional results for humans, not animals.

Yes, we market ALL DNA Organics Products as vegan.
We do not use animal ingredients in these ranges.

DELIVERY & TRACKING

Frequently Asked Questions About Order Shipping, Delivery Attempts and Australia Post Notifications

Some postal services will allow you to give authority to leave depending on your region. By doing this you are giving your delivery company permission to leave your order in a safe place if no one is home to sign for your order. DNA Organics will not be held responsible for any theft or damage if you provide us with the authority to leave your parcel at an unattended address. All risk in the parcel will remain with you upon delivery and DNA Organics will not offer a replacement or refund for any loss or damage as a result of selecting to leave your parcel without a signature.

Once your order has been packed and dispatched from our facility, delivery and tracking become the responsibility of our trusted courier partners. While DNA Organics ensures timely processing and dispatch of all orders, the parcel’s journey, including tracking updates, delivery attempts, and notifications is managed entirely by them.

For any delivery issues, we recommend contacting AusPost directly via the AusPost app or on 13 76 78.

Australia Post is introducing photo confirmation of attempted deliveries via the AusPost app for MyPost customers. If a parcel can’t be delivered, a photo of the front door or the safe place (if applicable) will be available in the app to help customers understand what happened and where to collect their order.

Items classed as Dangerous Goods — for example, aerosol hair-sprays or high-alcohol fragrances— must travel by specialised road freight with a trained driver and a signed chain of custody. Our courier (Direct Freight Express) can only meet those legal requirements when delivering to a ground-floor street address where someone can sign.

Because of that:

  • New Zealand – DG items can’t be sent by air, and no road‐freight route is available.

  • Apartments or units – Drivers can’t take DG parcels into lifts, stairwells or leave them unattended in building lobbies.

  • PO Boxes, Parcel Lockers & Post Offices – Australia Post prohibits DG items from being stored in mailboxes or lockers; a signature at hand-over is mandatory.

If you order a Dangerous Goods item, the system automatically applies Authority to Leave at an eligible street-level address. Orders listing an ineligible destination will be cancelled and refunded.

  1. Was it purchased direct from the Luxbrands Australia (www.luxbrands.com.au)?? No one else is authorised to sell DNA Organics products.
  2. Was it applied by qualified hairdresser?? DNA Organics Hair colours should only ever be applied by a Qualified and Trained hairdresser/hair colourist.
    If you have purchased a DNA Organics or DNA Branded hair dye/colour, Don’t panic, please contact us immediately for advice on how to proceed.
    We may be able to confirm if it is a fake or counterfeit product.

Unfortunately, we are legally unable to provide specific hair advice or hair colouring advice as we cannot physically see or touch your hair.
Only a fully trained and licensed hair professional should give you personalised advice, especially when it comes to hair colouring,
as achieving desired results often requires a multi-service journey.

While it’s possible to receive very generalised “opinion-based” advice from us,
please note that this advice is broad and cannot be relied upon for specific outcomes.
We encourage you to seek guidance from a qualified professional for personalised and accurate advice tailored to your unique hair needs.
